LESSON #2 JUDGMENT SEAT OF CHRIST The Apostle Paul was serious about his ministry. One of the most sobering thoughts and compelling facts was that he wanted to be "accepted" by Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:9. Read the next verse (10) and you will see the appointment that he knew he would keep – Accountability Day – Christians, did you know that you will be there with him? Romans 14:12 says "every one of us" shall be there to "give account". "Us", "we", Paul, you, me – every Christian. God didn't save us and leave us on this planet to waste our lives in useless chatter and earthbound project. We are light in the world. We are to carry the gospel. Our earthly vocations are to be but means of support for the real task of witnessing. I Corinthians 3:11-15. I hope that's not too heavy a load for you today. Paul recognized and experienced suffering. He also anticipated leaving this life and receiving rewards. Read Romans 8:18-23; 2 Timothy 1:12; 4:5-8. Paul looked to "that day" as a day of review and reward. He counted any trial and all costs as worth it in the light of the rewards. This judgment of the children of God will take place following our Lord's return (Lesson #1) for His redeemed. In a final word to the saints, we read a special message in Revelation 22:12. Underline key words, and don't miss "my reward". You and I have a very important, no our most important, important appointment -- The Judgment Seat of Christ. --- Not to fear hell or loss of eternal life, but with the solemn awareness of a steward of eternal truth.
