ANTHRAX-In 1955, I was working for my late father doing floor installations 
at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. This specialty floor was required in 
this laboratory where they were experimenting with anthrax. Anthrax, in a 
distinct form, is a hazard in many areas of agriculture-especially pork 
production.

PRESIDENTIAL-Prayer request. Several ministers were invited to a special 
White House briefing. Max Lucado of San Antonio was among them. He reports 
that there was an air of surprise that Mr. Bush appeared so rested and 
relaxed in the early days of this week. "When I have adequate time on my 
knees, I feel strong", were the words of explanation. The request? 
Protection for his wife and children.

PATIENCE-Please be patient and understanding in your support of foreign 
missionaries.The Sudan area of Africa adjoins Egypt. This land of several 
million is basically fanatical Muslim. It is one of the most dangerous 
places in the world for any gospel work. My newspaper reports that there are 
1,009 known languages there. This is typical as some risk their life to 
reach the world.

"STUDY-To shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be 
ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15. I will depend 
upon you in this section. My words of caution have been intended to keep us 
from underestimating our national foe. Their hatred has caught the attention 
of the media. Without manifesting arrogance, please sense the spiritual 
nature of this conflict. NBC reported this week that the hatred was toward 
America because we are considered the "Great Satan" who supports Israel and 
is friend of Great Britain. Islamic extremists are still fighting wars as 
old as the Crusades and as new as Palestinian uprisings. I will share three 
points of view for your study and prayer. I do it with confidence in your 
judgment. They are all presented as the total answer to the present dilemma. 
Obviously, this cannot be true. They each contain some truth. The strength 
of a falsehood is directly dependent on the amount of truth contained 
therein. I will not get involved in debate in any case; but rather make the 
presentation for your consideration and conclusion.

1. The focus is Genesis 16. The sixteen verses of this chapter contain all 
that we need to know for today. Historically, we see the disobedience, the 
origins and the customs. Prophetically, we see geographic areas and 
attitudes. With technology expanding and population exploding we simply have 
reached the bursting point.

2. The focus is Daniel 8. The emerging horn is Alexander the Great about 250 
B.C. One of the divisions of his empire went to his lieutenant, Seleucus. 
This fierce area would be Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Iran on a map today. 
They oppressed Jerusalem by making it illegal to practice Judaism. A man 
named Antiochus Epiphanes became their ruler. He invaded Jerusalem and 
sacrificed a hog on the altar of the Holy of Holies. In the "latter day" the 
Antichrist will arise from this area.

3. The focus is Revelation 17 &18. This passage was partly fulfilled on 
September 11, 2001. It was to be a message for America to repent. The 
commerce of the entire world collapsed in one day. Any efforts for justice 
and rebuilding are proof that we, as a nation, reject the message sent to us.
