Hello Again, HE SHOWED ME HIS HANDS-THEY WERE MARRED FOR MY SINNING HE SHOWED ME HIS FEET-THEY WERE NAILED TO A TREE I THEN SAW HIS BROW - AND HIS SIDE DEEPLY WOUNDED AND NOW I LOVE JESUS- FOR JESUS LOVED ME Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation (reconciliation) for our sins. 1John 4:10 MEMORY-Is a wonderful gift. Even in the midst of a rare sleepless night. I recalled this 1950s chorus set to a World War 1 melody and have been humming it all week. Can you recall "Rose of Tralee"? BIG BROTHER-The grocery near us began issuing a free discount card about a year ago. At first, it was for a few specials. It seemed each month you needed this card more and more. Now they no longer take clip-out coupons, you just use the card. They draw a complete profile on you from this card. You get frequent flier miles on an airline if you use the card. Have you tried to rent a car or buy air tickets without a credit card? I am not of a suspicious nature, but is somebody watching me now? Has the dreaded "Big Brother" era arrived. How much the FBI knows is alarming as they use their powers in the dragnet spread for the terrorists. All of the technology for a great world rulership is in place. You did not need to study much in Daniel to see that there will be one. "And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. " Daniel 2:44 The name of the king? JESUS GLOBALIZATION-Is a term thst seems very foolish as we have seen in the past five weeks how very divided the governments of earth really are. ANTHRAX-Nothing fans the flames of foolish fears any worse than statements that end with"we can't know for sure". I know for sure that Proverbs 3:25 says, "Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh". DANIEL-It appears that I threw you a "curve ball" when I sent you to the Book of Daniel last week. Several of you confessed that it is a tough book for you to understand. More books have been written (over 500 copyrighted) on Daniel than on any Bible book except Revelation. Hence, a variety of opinion (some of them in the "screwy" category). I was rescued from the wilderness of Daniel in 1954 by a book from Moody Press. Daniel and the Latter Days by Robert D. Culver (Library of Congress Catalog Card Number 54-5434) cannot be found on internet. Drop by and we will read it together, in my office. The book of Daniel has three natural divisions that are indicated by languages used. Chapter One is a general introduction written in Hebrew. Chapters Two through Seven have to do with the nations of the world-(character, succession, destiny etc.) and are written in Aramaic which was the popular Gentile language of that time. Chapters Eight through Twelve return to Hebrew and deal with the nation of Israel as Gentile nations touch it in God's unfolding plan in these latter days. The mysteries and images require a knowledge of history and prophecy that is far beyond my capabilities. Dr. Culver does not attempt an explanation of all areas. Do not read him for tiny details. He writes a study in millennialism that leans enough toward my point of view that I can embrace it. Don't give up; but don't expect a miracle. CAN'T FIND IT-Of all the questions asked me after September 11; this, in some form, has been most frequent. "Where does the United States fit into Bible prophecy?" My answer is a blow to our national ego. "If we fit at all, it is in a 'bit playing' role" The only reference that I can recall at all is from an old country song about a great, speckled bird. Roy Acuff is not one of my primary sources in eschatology. I was reminded of a sermon that I preached entitled "Samson in the Book of Revelation". Samson had no bearing on God sending Jesus the first time. The U.S. has little or no bearing on Jesus' second coming. They were both raised up against all odds (Judges 13-16), given great strength and served a particular purpose. You could take the story of Samson out of the Bible and not change a thing of eternal consequence. I am very glad that God included it. You could take the U.S. out of history and you would not change a thing prophetically. Samson and the United States were raised up for a PURPOSE. Only the U.S. has the means and the technology to reach the entire world with the gospel. His, Ron Krantz
