Good Lord's Day,

We Texans are hard to please-55 degrees plus and we are shivering. Native 
Texans have a saying-"They would complain if you hanged them with a new, gold 
rope".

TIME MARCHES ON-Dr. Wendell Kempton, a lifelong friend, is retiring as leader 
of a missionary effort after 31 years of service. Dr. Michael Loftis is 
being installed as leader on Tuesday. You may visit and watch on ABWE.org as 
a website guest. At a special series of farewell banquets last July, Dr. 
Harold Commons, Wendell's 95 year old predecessor, said "Farewell" to Wendell 
and Ruth and "Step on the gas", to Mike and JoBeth. Your prayer support is 
desired.

LOVE DAY-Wednesday is a designated day to demonstrate what Christians are to 
reflect continually. Most husbands I know could use the occasion to polish 
the image.

ISRAEL- I observed the swerves in the road in the Middle East this week. I 
have been ask to specifically reply to,"What is a timely response for me to 
the command in Psalm 122:6, "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem"? I place this 
along with, "Thy kingdom come"in Matthew 6:10, in a category of "hopeful 
looking ahead" prayers when the rule of Christ in the millenium age ahead 
will be with, "A rod of iron" as in Psalm 2, and with the peace as described 
in Isaiah 11:4-10 and Isaiah 12.

JOHN-WE ARE WATCHING-I watched with great interest as Larry King spent an 
hour with John and Janet Ashcroft on CNN. This man is the finest 
"interviewer" in the media. He let them express themselves as loving and 
caring individuals who are "very comfortable in their own skin". My 
conclusion is that they will be among the most watched individuals in the 
world. I make no attempts to sway you politically, but if you endorse him do 
so in intercessory prayer.

MIRACLE?-Apply here. Mike's father, Vern, was listed here as in need of a 
healing miracle. Recent tests have shown a spot that is cancerous near the 
spine. Pray for God's miraculous intervention.

HUMOR-I gave you a small sample of a Texas saying to begin. My roots are in
