Great Lord's Day To You, LETTERS-I get e-mail. Lots of junk to delete, and then there is yours (much this week, thanks). One reader sent a nice personal note, and then added words for us to all sing along. Melody is chorus of BLESSED ASSURANCE Ready?--Sing WONDERFUL SAVIOR, WONDERFUL FRIEND WONDERFUL LIFE THAT HAS NO END. WONDERFUL HOME HE'S GONE TO PREPARE WONDER OF WONDERS I SHALL BE THERE. What a last line!! Get this one. OH, WHAT A WONDER THAT JESUS FOUND ME OUT IN THE DARKNESS, NO LIGHT COULD I SEE OH, WHAT A WONDER, HE PUT HIS GREAT ARMS UNDER AND WONDER OF WONDERS HE SAVED EVEN ME " This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief " 1Timothy 1:15 PRAYER TIME-Update. The CPA that I asked prayer for last week, wrote me. "By Tuesday I felt well enough to go to work. By Wednesday I felt great".---- My brother got good words from Mayo Clinic where he has had extensive treatment for throat cancer. All things are clear. Keep praying and praising.---- I await word from ABWE on the outcome of Dr. Wendell Kempton's errand of mercy on behalf of Laotian pastors in prison. Wait in prayer with me until faith's feelings are confirmed by final facts. MORE "BUDDY"-Several have written with remarks and requests for more. One more as they are emotionally draining on me. Jeanene and Mom would occasionally plan Sunday dinner at a cafeteria that was on her route home. The parking area of Baker's was a place for a brief "Buddy" meeting. Several months earlier, I had begun a 132 sermon series built on two sermons from each Bible writing to be done on successive Sundays. This Sunday, I was in Obadiah. Mothers would know that to preach once in your lifetime from Obadiah would be a "stretch", let alone twice in one day. "Buddy, stick to John 3:16, it works real good" I never told you that my mother was a grammarian. Mom, as usual, was right. John 3:16 does "work real good". Hallelujah! ONE MORE ITEM-From last week to help me "catch up". I still have one (1) piano in stock. I forgot to mention that new hammers and a new custom fit sound board are included. For shipping, you need to know weight is 3/4 ton. MOST EXPENSIVE-Vehicle in your family is--------A runaway shopping cart with a credit card option. SOLOMON AND CHOLESTEROL-I don't think that is good interpretation of Proverbs 15:17, but it would work fine in today's society. It would, "Work real good". THANK YOU-As you send me e-mail addresses for old friends. I now have one for a fine preacher friend in Florida. If Joe French is ever in your area, go to hear him and Winnie, his wife. This Englishman may make you revise your list of the ten best preachers you have heard. NOTE: Those of you who are changing e-mail addresses--I gotcha (now if I can remember until March 1). RATTLE GROUP-Was the title of four of us pastors who met each Tuesday morning for breakfast and chatter. Well, what would you call a group made up of an Episcopal vicar, a Presbyterian pastor, a black Disciples of Christ pastor and me? We met for about five years just to "sharpen" each other. The similarities were wonderful. The differences just enough to make for spirited conversation. I miss that time. Incidentally, that title was affixed to us by the local Catholic priest who visited some. HOME,AGAIN-Jeanene came back this week to work a lot. You might appreciate the pressure if you knew that florists do over 1/4 of annual sales in the five days around February 14. The owner/manager was able to hire extra drivers and helpers this year. Their limitations still left most of the designing and professional arranging for Jeanene. Mothers Day is the next "biggie". The niece in Seattle had extensive and very painful surgery on her feet. Long sessions of therapy are ahead. Lori and Travis are fine believers who would appreciate prayer. ASHEVILLE, N.C.-Does not seem very interested in being "politically correct". A reader recently attended a psychology and educators statewide meeting there. The area wears religion "on it's sleeve". They shared with me that, "This is Billy Graham country". It seems that streets, avenues, schools, hospitals and parks all proudly display the name of the areas most famous citizen. But, listen to this. After inquiring about a place to go to the best fine dining restaurant, they went in the beautiful countryside to a grand place. During the business of the evening, the chef emerged from the kitchen to lead the entire dining room in prayer. LAST. BUT NOT LEAST-I am hearing the first reports of opposition in the country of Belgium. It is reportedly directed at the Assemblies of God there. If true, the implications are grave. This is considered as a rather "stable" area, the AG has been established here for many years. They also use this as a base for many international study courses. Watch and listen for further news. PRAY! His, Ron Krantz
