Welcome To February,

The extremely beautiful weather here allowed for a clear day for the 
groundhog on Friday. The news says we are due an early Spring. We'll see.

MAKING A LIST-After concluding Proverbs on Wednesday, Jeanene, Ben and I 
recognized powerful words and word pictures contained in the readings and 
compiled a brief list of words to trigger our recall of the truths.

THE EYES OF THE WHOLE EARTH-Are trained on the tiny nation of Israel. The 
elections there on Tuesday and the actions that will ensue seem to be well 
out of proportion to the land area and military might of this tiny nation. 
Those who view Israel as "God's timepiece" are not at all surprised. The 
close followers of Jesus did a "what" and "when" session of questioning with 
Him in Luke 21:7. He fixes His Divine eyes on the future. He narrows the 
conversation to Jerusalem beginning in verse 20. Read on with me into verse 
25 and read "distress of nations, with perplexity". I heard a national news 
figures words on Israel as "Diplomacy can be useful in problems, but Israel 
is a MESS". (George F. Will) "Now when these things begin to happen, look up 
and lift up your heads, because your redempton draws near". Luke 21:28 NKJV

FLATTERY-A speaker listened to a flowery introduction of himself. He opened 
his address with a prayer-"Dear Lord, forgive them for stretching the truth, 
and forgive me for enjoying it. Amen." I am in need of your counsel. A 
weekly reader wrote me and suggested a website for these weekly comments. I 
am flattered, but know nothing about cost, process, demand etc. Please give 
me some insight here.
