These familiar words are from the pen of America's most prolific hymn writer. 
Fanny Crosby, without normal eyesight, mentioned seeing or light in nearly 
each of the 5,000 sets of words that she composed. Each word was an 
expression of her lifestyle.

She, and her husband, had resources to live quite comfortably. They chose a 
Spartan lifestyle that enabled them to bless many deserving works of faith.

"Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as 
silver or gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your 
fathers; but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish 
and without spot: " 1 Peter 1:18,19

JUST NOTICED-That I used burnt orange color above. That is proper for a 
University of Texas fan. Folks here in Austin will tell you that this is the 
color God uses for sunsets.

ISRAEL-I seem to have aroused some curiosity about Israel and our nation and 
the church as to areas of commitment. Let me give further direction: About 
125 years ago in Chicago, the preaching of D. L. Moody and the establishment 
of Moody Institute impacted the life of several men who were interested in 
the Zionist movement to establish a homeland for those who had been scattered and wished to maintain an 
Israelitish background. Among the most known were Horatio Spafford, a 
wealthy developer, who is better known by the song he wrote after a great 
personal loss. "It Is Well, With My Soul" lives because of death claiming 
his four daughters in shipwreck. Also William E. Blackstone was a prolific 
writer on apocalyptic subjects using W. E. B. as his pen name.
As Rueben A. Torrey founded the institute, these men held great influence. 
The church world and the nation became aware of the unique plan that God 
seemed to have for this land not much larger geographically than Rhode Island.

In one rambling, not very well constructed paragraph, I gave you just a small 
"peak" into enough material for a doctoral thesis. (That's been done-get 
another idea.)

IS IT TRUE?-Rumor mills are grinding to the effect that many students are 
faced with a compulsory attendance at a Moslem service. Might just be a 
"money-raiser". Be aware.

I HAVE COMPANY-The corner is hosting my sister, Pat. Pat lives in Princeton, 
NJ, but travels world wide giving lectures on autism. Her travels brought 
her to Houston. When she gets that near (175 miles) we work out a visit. 
The quick, four or five day visits are full and fun times. Relax, even 
though she is a psychologist, we do not discuss you. We are still working on 
me. 

RUTH-I read the four chapters of this book last Wednesday. Not shocked? 
Listen to this. I read it from The New International Version (NIV). Many of 
you know of my commitment to Authorized King James (KJV). The beauty of the 
story is evident. No wonder that it was often read aloud at feast times in 
Israel-especially Pentecost. This story of devotion and love's redemption 
also fully shows the process involved in preserving a great society.

The land as family heritage was preserved through a "kinsman redeemer". Ruth 
will demonstrate for you how it was planned to work.

Of course, Christ identified with us and paid the full price for our 
redemption. I have suggested to you before that you become familiar with 
Philippians 2:5-11 as the Apostle Paul moves us through this process in 
eternal terminology. Come to Jesus today.

I NEED AN UPDATE-Some months ago, I wrote to you concerning a person who was 
planning a move to Africa. They were going to an area where American 
missionaries are not welcomed. Their purpose in going was to work to help 
those in the AIDS crisis.

I have received an e-mail update through one of their family members. That 
new address is on a system that serves areas of Africa. I need for them or 
anybody reading to inform me.

I am aware that some of the movements are done clandestinely, and I will not 
break those areas of safety.

A BOOK-I always run a printed copy for proofreading before I send yours. A 
few weeks ago, Jeanene read it with this comment, "Honey, you wrote a book." 
Don't want that.
