Hello, OOPS!-The preacher's young son was watching as his father wrote his sermon. Where do you get your sermons Dad? God gives them to me. Well, then why do you make so many crossouts as you go? THE TRUTH-Versus a truth. You each need to meet my only granddaughter. Megan will be twenty-one this April. She is in her third year of college studies. Her class in Humanities is a special challenge to her. Two weeks ago, she bounced into my office-Papa, give me a three point speech outline on "The Origin of Christianity". We hammered that out in two minutes. 1. In Eternity- Using the records of Satan's rebellion in Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28 we looked beyond the veil into the murky picture of a scene that might have been precipitated by the revelation of God sending His own Son, Jesus the Christ, to redeem mankind. 2. On Earth- God choosing Abraham and the nation of Israel to bring a redeemer into the world . Using the genealogies of Matthew and Luke and the promise of a "seed" in Galatians we traced a clear plan. 3. By Experience-only as an act of personal faith. Her initial reaction to my mind that works in triple alliteration-"Papa, you 're wierd". She received an "A" on the speech and outline. She also received an evaluation that perturbed her. She was informed that all things are relative. That to be truly "tolerant" we must accept all things somewhere on a sliding scale of relative value. She regards the instructor as a truly educated person. Imagine her surprise when that instructor said there was really no difference between what a Confuscianist and a Jehovah's Witness believes. We are confronted with a world that teaches that there are no absolutes. As a believer, I cannot agree with that fact. To "respect" another's belief system is not to "embrace" their point of view. Megan and her Papa are not ready for synergism in matters of faith. IRAN???-Is posted on my website. Thanks to Mike and Linda Knibbs for doing it in a form that will allow you to download. I'M LATE-My time with you today is later than usual. Church was later today. This local church supports the Life Challenge ministry in Dallas very heavily. When those former addicts sing and share, time is ignored, and then dinner at Threadgill's on this pretty day, and then I had to help Duke defeat UNC and Illinois beat Minnesota, and then why is Andy Rooney always last on 60 minutes?
