"WHO FORGIVES ALL YOUR INIQUITIES, WHO HEALS ALL YOUR DISEASES " Psalm 103:2 HAPPY?ANNIVERSARY-Ten years ago today I was life-Flighted for a surgery that had a 0% chance of success. For three days a stroke had caused bleeding at the base of my brain. Unconscious and helpless, I was to have a shunt run from the brain to my abdomen (a surgery to remove it became essential over two years later). After eleven weeks intensive care and a total of thirteen months in hospitals in Ohio and Texas, on May 1,1992 I was released to return to home in Xenia, Ohio. Grace Community Church retained me as pastor and called Larry and Nancy Cole as interim leaders. The Coles succeeded me on October 1, 1994, and serve there today. I am a wheelchair tenant, paralyzed on the right side. Subsequent surgeries made me a person with a quadruple by-pass heart and two below-knee amputations. My purpose in sharing any of this with you is not for sympathy, prayer is okay. My purpose is two-fold: 1. Jack Hayford penned a chorus that long has been a favorite as an ode to God-- The Steadfast Love of the Lord Never Ceases His Mercies Never Come to An End They Are New Every Morning, New Every Morning Great is Thy Faithfulness, O' Lord; Great is Thy Faithfulness 2. In response to queries, I saw an outline that I have used in private and publicly. SURVIVAL FACTS Text: Proverbs 2:8 "He preserveth the steps of His saints" Three factors in an unfailing formula. 1. SIMPLE FAITH-No time for any big words or statements of doctrine. How about "Jesus Loves Me, This I Know, For the Bible Tells Me So" 2. STRONG FAMILY- Wife, children, brother, sister, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, and cousins all who know how to pray. Add a committed church family and a host of friends along with a cadre of health care professionals and you have a strong link. 3. SURE FUTURE- I do not mean to indicate that this has been an easy decade; but the certainties that surround all of my "tomorrows" has cushioned the blows. CANCER-I have given you two requests for prayer in this area. The doctors are pleased and perplexed in each case-please keep praying. LINKS-Thanks you for your help here. You have responded to me, and Mike has them posted for you to read and download. NOTE-I have not taken the time to follow down each contributors "Links". Therefore: I cannot vouch for anything but the initial contact. I am rightfully proud of them. DOES IT MATTER?-A weekly news magazine that I read carried a piece of trivia this week. Who really cares that the people of Salt Lake City eat more Jell-o per capita than the people in Des Moines? It led me to think that if Satan can get us all to "major in the minors" of life, he has won his battle with us. His, Ron Krantz
