Greetings on this Lord's Day,

I wish I could talk face-to-face today. My mind needs a "jump start", 
besides, I have made five "typos" already.

TOOLS OR TOYS-Life in small town Iowa in the 1940s and 50s was surely much 
different. Supper (dinner) at 5:30. All the family there each night. Two 
brothers, one sister, myself, Mom and Dad. Grace. When all had finished 
eating we could request, "May I please be excused?" Dad would respond 
affirmatively or simply "no". The "no"
meant family time for discussion under the well-known rule--"This family is a 
democracy, but not all members are of voting age." (To be honest, I value 
those times far more now than I did then.) An oft discussed theme, when 
appropriate , was learning the difference between a tool and a toy. This 
lesson of priorities and proper values and uses is a needed lesson that 
probably has prevented me from being "remote-controlled" in this television 
and computer era. "All things are lawful for me, but all things are not

A GOOD TOOL-I have just finished reading "The Remarkable Record of Job" by 
Dr. Henry Morris . Master Books www.masterbooks.net ISBN 0-89051-292-2 
Wish that I had read it a long time ago.

A "BARE-BONES" OUTLINE-I have done all the reading and research when I have 
included an outline previously. You will need to read the first three 
chapters of Joshua
to make one "blockbuster" sermon or a multi-part study from this seed thought.
1.PRESENT OBSTACLE-River Jordan is separating them from the long sought 
promised land. The very source of life in years past and future. We cannot 
live off past blessing or future plans and dreams. 2. PERSONAL OBLIGATION 
Moses is dead. Joshua,
you are the man. Realization, reaction and re-assurance make a neat little 
outline in an outline. PROVIDENTIAL OPPORTUNITY-Some believers need a new 
way of thinking based on 1 Chronicles 16:9. God is looking for ways to help 
us. Read John, chapters 1-6 and note that God seizes the initiative often on 
man's behalf. That is as far as I can go off the top of my head this 
morning. Sic 'em.

REWARDING-Is the word that expresses what I feel when I get almost daily 
requests to download a part of these words or hear from a person who looks in 
as you forward your copy. In communication with Mike Knibbs this week, I 
shared some of the reward. He informed me that as he and Linda do the setup 
and posting it is with the prayer that the Body of Christ be blessed.
