Hello There, It is said that there are two kinds of people in the world. It is further said that you can identify them the first thing in the morning. One group awakes with, "Good morning, Lord". The other group, "Good Lord, its morning" Find yourself?? FORMAT-A regular reader is also a regular contributor to professional periodicals. They encourage me to follow my move to a format. "Readers do not wish to be surprised. They wish to think in familiar patterns." Let's see-we start with music. Ira Stanphill is a name that many of us recognize. This wordsmith and musician left a good heritage of melody. Songs such as Suppertime paint word pictures in melody for us. Another of his compositions was used on an international radio broadcast for many years. ROOM AT THE CROSS FOR YOU THE CROSS UPON WHICH JESUS DIED IS A SHELTER IN WHICH WE CAN HIDE. AND ITS GRACE SO FREE IS SUFFICIENT FOR ME, AND DEEP IS ITS FOUNTAIN; AS WIDE AS THE SEA, Chorus: THERE'S ROOM AT THE CROSS FOR YOU. THERE'S ROOM AT THE CROSS FOR YOU. THOUGH MILLIONS HAVE COME THERE'S STILL ROOM FOR ONE. YES, THERE'S ROOM AT THE CROSS FOR YOU. THE HAND OF MY SAVIOUR IS STRONG AND THE LOVE OF MY SAVIOUR IS LONG. THROUGH SUNSHINE OR RAIN THROUGH LOSS OR IN GAIN, THE BLOOD FLOWS FLOWS FROM CALV'RY TO CLEANSE EVERY STAIN. 1 John 1: 9--"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." These gracious words of promise are precious . I have heard it argued that the message is for believers. My reply, "There are times that the value of the content is more vital than the context. GREAT OUTLINE-A reader shared a situation they experienced just prior to Easter. They were asked to share as a speaker on Good Friday. They were given the text of John 19:30 and the words "It is finished". They continued to share that they used the "descending truth" theory that I had shared with you. What fluttered downward is wonderful in the form of three questions: 1. What was "It"?, 2. How was it "Finished"?, 3. Is it still finished?. My mind flew as I preached from that outline in my subconscious. My prediction is that many of you will find a spot in your preaching program-before next Good Friday. "BEHOLD- How great a matter a little fire kindleth" (James 3:5) is an obvious reference to the tongue. Anyone who has ever experienced a kidney stone can identify. Last Tuesday morning, after a sleepless night, Philip had to go to ER-you know the rest. X-Rays, pain pills , medicines and hurt, hurt, hurt. After a while relief came as the culprit passed. Tiny, little grain of concentrated agony. Home in a few hours with no desire for a rerun-----ever. Thank you for praying. 75 YEARS-I received a special anniversary issue of MESSAGE magazine from ABWE. The history of this missions agency is in a word-miraculous. The future seems to bode more of the same as they reach out even further. Please do not just tag on "Lord, bless the missionaries" to your prayers. Intercede as is proper in a life and death struggle. JUST WHAT IS GOING ON-My daughter in Michigan sends e-mail nearly each day. One day it was in the eighties, the next day she reported snow. Sure that is Michigan, but even so........101 degrees in central Texas on Wednesday. NEIGHBORS-A popular TV show is built on the premise of family as neighbors. A national magazine (Newsweek) has an article on the subject this week. I could qualify as experienced, if not expert. Since October 1, 1994, we have lived across the street from our older daughter. Her husband, Randall, calls us his parents and our son, Philip, his brother, when introducing us. Megan (22) is sharing a townhouse with another young lady from church, but that still leaves the twins (14 year old Owen and Collin) at home. I think that we do great. That is their home and this is ours. We do not need to see each other or each other's checkbook. The families are all involved in church and school activities as fit their age and personal needs. They have vehicles and we have ours. If help is needed either way it is never far away. We are all "dog crazy" so no problem there-each of us has one inside and one outside pet-all "spoiled rotten". Throw my son into the mix and it still works well. He works nights and helps with my care during the day. Jeanene and Jeanine (mother, daughter) love flowers and shopping. I enjoy being alone and reading. I can hear her (Jeanene) outside my office window watering and working in her roses. Sound like a pretty good life? You have the message. His, Ron Krantz
