MOTHERS DAY-I will make no comments other than to state that no word in my 
vocabulary opens such a flood of emotions as "MOM".

96 BIRTHDAYS-Are worthy of note, especially when the celebrant plays piano 
and organ and sings a concert of their own songs. Merrill Dunlop was 
featured in his home church in Oak Park, Illinois last Sunday. My personal 
favorite, "My Sins Are Blotted Out I Know"was copyrighted in 1927. I met 
Merrill at the great Iowa State Fair in 1975. Merrill and Joe Bochenek were 
there for one day with Russell Killman as WHO radio honored the "Heaven and 
Home" broadcast. We were in a tent in Pioneer Village with a three time a 
day schedule of music and preaching for the ten day duration of the fair.

MIDDLE EAST-Update. You have asked me for my opinion. The papal visit must 
be recognized. While some have seen Roman Catholicism as the "Harlot Church" 
of Revelation, I see that idea as falling short of good interpretation. 
What concerns me much more is that there is no heir apparent for Yasser 
Arafat. That vacuum is the type of space that could (note "could") be filled 
by the Anti-Christ.

In 1980, a sponsoring pastor let me audit three sessions with Dr. John 
Walvoord. This man from Dallas Seminary was the leading student of 
eschatology in the world. A consortium of pastors brought him to Rochester, 
Michigan for three days for us to feast. I recall his opening remark, 
"Beware of any teacher who says that they have all of the answers about the 
Book of Revelation".

PICKING UP PIECES-From last week.. I expressed a view that Paul instructed 
Timothy that the grace message was the only message to teach and preach. You 
would need to read less than ten verses in Galatians to see that he was 
convinced that there was no other gospel. Forgive me as I share a credo for 
preachers and teacher. Never subject your hearers to: MINDLESS MEDIOCRITY OF 
MORALISTIC MANEUVERING or THE LOW-LEVEL LEVITICAL LIVING OF RELIGIOUS RULE 
KEEPERS we must be RAISED TO A RIGHTEOUSNEES THAT IS A REFLECTION OF A 
RELATIONSHIP THAT CHANGES US FROM OUR OWN IMAGE TO HIS IMAGE (2 Corinthians 
3:5-18). I would suggest that this is "The minstry of the Spirit" to the 
individual believer.
