Hello There, I am so happy to help wherever I can. A pastor writes me to 
thank me for stating that in 1952 I was in college. That was the year of his 
birth. He said that he immediately felt younger. Good!- he needs all of the 
help he can get. After applying all of the mathematical chicanery allowable, 
2002-1934 keeps coming out at over 39. The most notable change in the 
worship scene is in the music. I was raised on the majestic on Sunday 
morning and on the nearly militant on Sunday night. Victory Ahead.

YOU ARE OUT THERE-I got e-mail this week. Thank you. Joel Chandler Harris in 
Song of the South has Uncle Remus teach Bre'r rabbit that "If you can't say 
nuffin nice don't say nuffin at all." I wasn't worried, but your silence 
bothered me some.

BAD JOKES-I suppose that my love of humor leads to some of them. After using 
the song printed above, I was reminded of the verse about David and Goliath 
(not shown) really being appropriate. Victory, a head. Oh well! The late Albert Janzen 
had many such insights. I use this one without permission. What do you 
expect? He and Ava raised six daughters, one or two a little bit blonde. 
Please do not fill my mailbox.

FAMILY NEWS-I use this means to keep you up on family matters. Junior High 
is now behind Collin and Owen. I saw their signed diplomas with my own eyes. 
Philip turned 36 on last Wednesday. I got a grandpa and grandma photo from 
Dennis and Kathleen Funk. I got an e-mail from them later in the week 
announcing grandchild number five. I am going to be working on plans for a 
quick trip to Des Moines in June. My high school fiftieth graduation 
anniversary comes on June 21. Your prayers are appreciated.

PRAYER AND MISSIONS- Go hand in hand. Tammy Swailes has returned to Hungary 
after her language school in Russia. She writes expressing excitement over 
growth in INSTE. A pressing desire is that the "red tape" of international recognition for 
incorporation gets navigated quickly. INSTE world-wide has a scheduled 
convention this summer in U.S.

THE FORGOTTEN HOLIDAY-Of all days is called Memorial (If your old 
enough-Decoration) Day. I understand that Mothers Day was intended to be 
celebrated along with this day that was already showing signs of weakening in 
the early twentieth century. The floral business has "rescued" Mothers Day. 
It appears to me, that the furniture and mattress business is attempting the 
same sort of "rescue" for this date. Aside from a few churches and some 
veterans groups. most of the news (if any) is buried on page nine. 

WHO KNEW WHAT-When seems to be the big news this week. Probably any comment 
here is not needed.

"FOR OTHER FOUNDATION CAN NO MAN LAY THAT IS LAID, WHICH IS JESUS CHRIST"
THIS VERSE-1Corinthians 3:11 (KJV) started the wheels of my mind to turning. 
All of the Bible is pertinent. This entire chapter could be addressed to the 
church world today. At the risk of sounding judgmental, let me urge you into 
a study of 1 Corinthians. It may be a long-term project; but it will change 
your life. Each believer must examine his or her motives. Will they 
withstand divine scrutiny? They shall! We are instructed in this chapter to 
"Talk the talk and to walk the walk"

CHANDRA LEVY-A rather predictable sad episode in this tragedy. Media 
spinmasters will feverishly work until they produce an equally predictable 
storyline-"No moral issue is intrinsically evil". You know "Don't 
ask----------Don't tell." The amoral trio of Robert Blake, Bernard Law and 
Gary Condit were heard reciting their mantra ("Big lawyers, big dollars,big 
lies") as they received advanced degrees from the O.J. Simpson school of fact 
manipulation. I want to write next week in support of their point of
