MUCH ON MY MIND TODAY-I pray that you can bring it together.

PERU-I did keep my dinner date with Dr. Wendell Kempton on last Sunday. This 
recently retired leader of ABWE had only one story in comment about the 
incident of the shooting and deaths.--A few days after Jim Bowers (the 
father) returned to the U.S., he received a surprise phone call from the 
White House. Both the President and the First Lady were on. After 
condolences, the conversation stretched over a half an hour. A pact of 
prayer was struck by the three of them that covered areas of concern and the 
desires that filled the heart of the survivors.

JABEZ-On December 31, 2000, I recommended the book based on 1 Chronicles 
4:9&10. This book has become a runaway best seller. CNN's Talkback Live 
devoted the entire hour to the story on Thursday with the author (Dr. Bruce 
Wilkinson) as guest. The public seems to view it all as a "get rich quick" 
scheme. The author presented a highly balanced response. Have you read it 
yet?

IN GOD WE TRUST-After July 1, 1955, all U.S currency has been printed bearing 
this slogan. I heard the late Dr. Charles Leaming preach that it should 
read, "In This God We Trust".

PRAYER NEEDS-"Support the weak"-1 Thessalonians 5:14. While we all must 
avoid self-pity, there must be mutual concern for those who grow weary in the 
fight of faith.

WRONG-That must explain it. I must not see nor hear the messages : 1. It is 
okay to consume alcohol-just be a certain age and don't drive. 2. Random sex 
is okay-just use a condom and don't get AIDS. P.S. 68 MILLION Americans have 
some form of sexually transmitted disease. That is 1 in 4 according to 
government figures through CDC.

VARIETY-Has often impressed me in God's big family.

One year ago last night. I attended a meeting/banquet with hundreds of 
others. This was a global meeting to celebrate victories.

The persons present presented the truth to me. At my table on my right were 
the young pastors of the church of my childhood. Pat and Marilyn Nemmers are 
a powerful story. They each had suffered a tragic loss of a mate. They each 
had four small children. They are now raising eight in the parsonage. On my 
left-Dr. Jack Jacobs and his wife, Nancy. Childhood friends and neighbors. 
Next table over were Bob and Sue Boone from California. Bob had followed his 
father, Ray, in becoming a major league baseball catcher. Bob and Sue have 
two sons, Aaron and Brett, currently in the major leagues. Bob is today the 
manager of the Cincinnati Reds. At their table was a gentleman from the 
Philippine Islands whose name I cannot spell. He has been training native 
preachers for over fifty years

The music was variety. The young man who was the featured pianist was a 
veteran of Carnegie Hall. The young, black lady did gospel music with soul. 
The Southern style quartet from North Carolina brought down the house, 
Variety!!

Did I just want to "name drop"? Hardly. What will heaven hold? VARIETY
