Hello, "The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved" 
These sad words from Jeremiah 8:20 have spoken often and loudly to my 
heart.

IT'S YOU-The late Gordon Lindsay pastored Five Points Community Church in 
Pontiac, Michigan for forty-four years, About a year after my stroke, he 
wrote to order a book that I had written. Two weeks later he phoned. "It's 
you", he shouted. He had read the book and he declared "I heard your voice 
as I read the pages. I was nearly mute at the time. Ilearned the power of 
written communication. As you write me each week, I sense that power anew. 
I hope that I continue to stimulate you to follow my studies. Most of all, I 
prize your friendship in the gospel.

SLOW READER-About two months ago I shared with you that I had begun at 
Genesis 1 to read through again. I finished the first two chapters this 
week. The fascinating picture of the abilities of Adam in the verses that 
begin in 2:15 is worth your time. God, indeed, had made a creature of grand 
ability with whom He shared in the fauna that surrounds us. Who spoke the 
covenant in 2:24 ? "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, 
and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh" Out of date 
--never. Out of style---surely 

BUY A GOOD BOOK-On simple Bible doctrine. Be wise and safe. Ask your pastor.

A FUNERAL-Was held on Thursday in Austin. A healthy, 49 year old trucker 
suddenly died. Nothing unusual so far. The newspaper did not report the 
matter of eternal value. Three Sundays ago, a faithful pastor issued an 
invitation to those who wished to find forgiveness. Carlton Harry and his 
wife, Paula, answered that call. "There's A Wideness In God's Mercy"

GOOD QUESTIONS-Flow across my desk. Who will populate the earth during the 
millennium? I told this questioner, this week by e-mail, that I had tried to 
ignore the question. Why- because I CANNOT FIND AN ANSWER THAT SATISFIES ME. 
Please understand that this is to a friendship that reaches back to high 
school, so I am not afraid of losing it. Eldon's degrees are in actuarial 
science. He managed big dollars for Rockwell in the aerospace industry. As 
a dedicated Bible scholar he expects answers that balance the books. To him, Calvary's                                 sacrifice triumphs. Hallelujah!

Let me begin by stating that this study has always reinforced my views as a 
pretribulational rapture believer. The structure that follows that order 
more nearly
answers the problem. For example, the ability to see the 144,000 mentioned 
in Revelation Seven clearly and to trace them through ages to come is only 
possible with this beginning point.

Let me keep us off of "rabbit trails" of theology that lead into confusion.

I am "comforted" (1 Thessalonians 4:18) by the assurance of verse 17 that I 
will ever be with the Lord. Therefore, I will reign with Christ in the day 
when it is "with a rod of iron" (Psalm 2:9). My personal condition and 
position in Christ is secure including the millennium. Recall that last week 
I stated that the sole fact about the millennium that I can point out is in 
Revelation, chapter 20. A duration is assigned by repeating 1,000 years six 
times. Add the one other fact of my presence.

I am aware of the many references that can only be understood as millennial. 
Whole segments of Isaiah's book for example. I made a "bad buy" when I 
bought a book that promised me fresh insights from Zephaniah. (I wouldn't 
even give it away, except for use as a doorstop).

Some may spend a scholarly lifetime juggling judgments and pressing their 
nose against "a glass darkly," I must opt here to await with joy for "face to 
face" 1 Corinthians 13:12.
