Sales of depression medications have skyrocketed since September 11. Over 
35% of Americans report trouble sleeping since that date. These figures are 
from a CNN/ABC poll. Remember that "Figures don't lie, but liars have been 
known to figure".

RANDOM THOUGHTS-Well describes what I will share today. Do not judge me as 
unpatriotic on any point-I am just wondering, electronically.

NOSTRADAMUS-Crossed my e-mail screen. He was a fraudulent astrologer 500 
years ago. The version circulating now, appears to be from a college paper 
written to refute his influence by misquotes etc. The grasping to this 
"runaway" version shows that "You can fool all of the people some of the 
time" Incidentally, the Nazi forces took some of his quatrains, twisted them 
and showed Germany as the eventual victor in World War 2. 'Nuff said!

GIVING-Is the American answer now. What can I do? is a legitimate question. 
Your local church leaders should have established a process that will 
guarantee that your gift is properly received and spent.

"NEW WAR"-When I hear the term, I pause to think. Yes, "antiseptic" war is a 
relic. No longer a warfare where a button is pushed by a general in a 
paneled office and we all watch on TV. This is much more like Daniel and 
Ezekiel saw war in the last days.

BLESSED HOPE-Have we, as believers, been projecting correct attitudes? It 
seems to me that the church has been lambasting the unbeliever with "bleakest 
horrors" instead of the "blessed hope" of Titus 2:13. I cannot find a New 
Testament command or example that teaches me to preach only fear. The 
principle doctrine of the New Testament is "The miracle of Christianity"-The 
Resurrection of Jesus from the dead.

POSTURING-We are in the phase of this crisis where anybody can say anything, 
and they are. Posturing was tried supernaturally in Acts 19:13-19 with 
tragic results. I fear a land war in Afghanistan. It is easy to get into 
this land as large as Texas. Getting out is harder than Viet Nam. Over a 
hundred years ago, Rudyard Kipling wrote this advice to British soldiers: 
"When you're wounded and left on Afghanistan's plains,
And the women come out to cut up what remains, Jest roll to your rifle and 
blow out your brains."

1 THESSALONIANS 5:1-11- Seems to have piqued your curiosity. Several wrote 
in a manner that indicated that you study contextually. Great! If you read 
from a Greek New Testament or use a lexicon, you discovered that 4:18 and 
5:11 begin with identical characters. Malachi 3:16 &17 comes to my mind. In 
an ever deepening darkness, "Then they that feared the Lord spake often one 
to another: and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance 
was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon 
his name. And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I 
make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that 
serveth him."
