AND TRI-UMPH IN EACH TRY-ING HOUR; WHAT A WONDERFUL SAVIOUR! TO HIM I'VE GIVEN ALL MY HEART, WHAT A WONDERFUL SAVIOUR! THE WORLD SHALL NEVER SHARE A PART; WHAT A WONDERFUL SAVIOUR! WE GOT THE BUS-I received a short e-mail from Them Bowmans. They have a bus (good used). And always that they love me. Did you have a part? PRAYER NEEDS-A special friend here in Austin had surgery. They did well and are back at church and work. A single mom (not by choice) she needs your prayers. I received word this week that a dear friend is in the last stages of cancer. The hospital is giving hospice type of care only-massive doses of morphine to ease the pain. A reader's mother has been having physical problems most common in advanced years-you know the tale of moving out of home to rest home etc. Please care in prayer. THEY KEEP ME TIRED-Dr. Wendell Kempton and Ruth keep me up with them as they travel. After leading ABWE (Association of Baptists for World Evangelism) for more than thirty years, they leave home in rural Pennsylvania to minister worldwide. They wrote me from Stockholm, Sweden. A friend since my childhood, this gifted man has a message for today. They journey with you each week. They write me often. Whew! I GOT A PHONE CALL-From a person that I had not spoken to in years, I used to talk to him daily when I was his pastor. I became pastor in a situation following the founder after twenty years. This person was a leader in the church. He did many things to make the transition to me smooth. (Maybe you hadn't noticed that I am a tad strongwilled.) All of the leaders made a pact to care and never do anything without the knowledge of all the other leaders. Our daily talks were never trivia or gossip. He cared!! We neither one are living in that city any longer. He still cares. KEEP PREACHING-My Michigan family went out of town last Sunday to hear a special missionary speak. My daughter's words, "It was a good sermon". Import?-The pastor of the church and the missionary were both in the youth group where I was pastor years ago. I guess that they did listen. They sure had me fooled, SMELLS LIKE FALL-The recent years we seem to have skipped autumn entirely. This week has been cooler and crisp. When storms like Isidore stay far out in the gulf, we get dry and cool flows out of the Northwest. DID I LEAVE-You hanging in my writing last week? Sometimes, in seeking brevity, I tend to leave blanks to be filled in by the reader. I wanted the illustration about loss of the "servants spirit" to impress on us all that we must not allow subtraction of good things as we move forward. A SPECIAL GROUP-I need to send this and trust it to be passed on. I wish to thank those leaders who provide the weekly service at Adventureland, Consider me speaking for the entire family. Your care and concern is noted and appreciated WE CALLED HIM DOC-With a sense of loving respect. Sadly, much of my ministry years were lived in an area where I did not have easy access to the man who exemplified the title"pastor". In one of my last visits, I had a question (I always did). "Doc, if you had it to do all over again, what would you change?" "Ronnie (he always did), "I would make the Christian life easier". "I saw many persons Redeemed. The joy of sins forgiven and the miracle involved never grows old." "I witnessed the ongoing miracle as God worked in Restoration in their life. Alcohol, drugs, family divisions, estrangements of all kinds." "I taught as the third 'R', to Rejoice" And man, could he do that! He would take his jumbo Gibson guitar and like David of old he became a worship leader long before the term was ever used. "I should have taught a fourth 'R'---Relax." That is my word for you today. Take a deep breathe and a big drink from the spring of GRACE. You, and everybody around you, will feel better. His, Ron Krantz
